Job summary
Baxter & Woodman Inc. is seeking a GIS Technician I to support municipal clients from Bannockburn, Chicago, Crystal Lake, or Naperville, IL. You will perform office-based mapping, data manipulation, and ArcGIS Pro analysis while coordinating with the GIS Department Manager.
The role is roughly 80% in-office GIS work and 20% on-site fieldwork, including GPS data collection and asset condition assessments. A Bachelor’s in GIS or related field and strong ArcGIS Pro/Online experience are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Remote Sensing or related field.
- Extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- 80% office-based GIS tasks; 20% on-site with clients.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and travel within Chicagoland area.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Office-based mapping tasks, data manipulation, analysis in ArcGIS Pro.
- Manage ArcGIS Online Organization accounts and data layers for municipal clients.
- Develop ArcGIS Online apps such as Experience Builder, Survey123, Dashboards, and Field Maps.
- Provide onsite fieldwork and GPS data collection for assets and utilities.
