Job summary

JMT Technology Group seeks a GIS Technician to collect, create, and edit GIS data and to prepare maps and outputs using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. You will edit vector data in various formats and support portal apps like Story Maps and Survey123, ensuring data integrity through QA/QC checks.

The role requires field data collection experience (GPS tools) and collaboration with project teams, with travel up to 15% and regular progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, information technology, engineering, planning, or related field with GIS coursework.
• Minimum of two years of experience using ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to create and maintain geospatial data.

Responsibilities

• Collect, create, and edit GIS data and prepare maps and outputs.
• Edit and maintain vector GIS data in various formats (file geodatabase, SDE, Portal, shapefile, published map services).
• Update ArcGIS Online/Portal apps including Story Maps, Field Maps, Experience Builder, and Survey123.
• Perform QA/QC to ensure GIS data integrity.
• Travel up to 15% for field data collection and verification using GPS and mobile tools.
• Report progress to project/task managers and participate in GIS workshops and trainings.
