Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a GIS Staff Technician to support data capture and real-time reporting for large-scale engineering projects across North America. The role collaborates with civil, structural, and construction teams, building GIS solutions and ensuring quality control on deliverables.

The ideal candidate will use ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, create Survey123 forms, and run Python scripts to automate workflows.

Qualifications

• GIS certification or degree in Geographic Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience using ArcGIS in a GIS Technician role with cartography, database management, and spatial analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to operate ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Experience with Python scripts to automate processes.
• Experience building forms via ArcGIS Survey123 Connect.
• Experience leveraging AGOL Web Apps for end-user operation (Dashboards, Story Maps).
• Experience in civil engineering industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain GIS data capture/tracking projects.
• Attend project setup/maintenance/delivery meetings.
• Interface with clients and Project Management to refine needs.
• Perform daily quality checks on tools and outputs; troubleshoot issues in real time.
• Build Survey123 forms and web maps for data collection.
• Report weekly activities to GIS Manager.
• Research updates to improve tools and outputs.
• Run Python scripts to automate workflows.
• Provide daily technical support to field staff.
• Support other GIS requests within Civil Engineering group.
