OVERVIEW:

The Maine Office of GIS team is seeking a motivated IT professional to lead technical teams, work with Maine business clients to design, maintain, and support ESRI applications, and embody our C.A.R.E. values.

The Maine Office of GIS is looking for a GIS professional to serve as the lead system administrator for the State’s ESRI-based GIS. The ideal candidate has extensive experience configuring and deploying enterprise GIS solutions, including remote desktop deployments, mobile GIS applications, enterprise and ArcGIS Online portal collaborations, and custom role-based user management.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Your main responsibility is administering the State’s Enterprise ArcGIS infrastructure and supporting GIS applications within our license agreement. Tasks include:

  • Administer enterprise GIS and MEGIS geodatabases for MS SQL Server.
  • Manage scripts, models, and tools for GIS users.
  • Design architecture for new GIS technologies.
  • Install, configure, and maintain GIS software and geodatabases.
  • Support deployment of GIS components within secure IT infrastructure.

Employees are expected to work at a high technical level with limited supervision.

WHAT WE EXPECT?

The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience with:

  • Team collaboration
  • Deploying ArcGIS Enterprise in Windows Server/Azure Cloud
  • Managing ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal, and ArcGIS Online
  • Maintaining ArcGIS Pro and other GIS applications
  • Diagnosing system issues
  • MS SQL Server / Oracle RDBMS administration
  • ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE administration
  • Geoprocessing tools and scripting
  • Web application development with ArcGIS Online
  • Geospatial data types
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Effective communication skills
  • System testing and evaluation
  • Working with technical and non-technical staff
  • Capturing and translating business requirements
  • Initiative and organizational skills
  • Handling multiple projects under deadlines
  • Providing high-level customer support

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 6 years of related education, certifications, or work experience. Related training or internships may be credited proportionally.
