Job summary

California State University, Stanislaus is seeking a temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant in Capital Planning and Design, located in Stanislaus - Turlock. The position supports GIS work, field surveys, CAD data handling, and campus mapping efforts.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate graduate students must enroll in a minimum of four Fall/Spring units.
• Current Stanislaus State student (Junior level or higher) preferred.
• Geography major or MSIS – Geospatial Analysis preferred.
• Knowledge of GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing; ArcGIS experience required.
• Familiarity with other campus mapping projects preferred.
• Excellent customer service, dependable, punctual; able to work with minimal supervision or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain GIS database using Trimble GPS equipment.
• Import CAD data from campus files for projects.
• Field survey to collect information and update campus maps.

• Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Capital Planning and Design.

Job Description/Duties

• Create, update, and maintain GIS database, utilizing Trimble GPS equipment and software to locate campus information.
• Some projects will require importing CAD data from existing campus files.
• Collect information by field survey to update campus maps, such as utilities, trees, floor plans and other campus features.
• Maintain and update the campus space allocation drawings.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Stanislaus State student (must be at Junior level or higher).
• Geography Major or MSIS – Geospatial Analysis preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing and experience using ArcGIS.
• Familiarity of other campus mapping projects preferred.
• Possess excellent customer service skills, motivation, dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude; ability to work on projects with minimal supervision and/or with a team.

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

Salary Range

$18.00per hour.
