Job summary

California State University, Stanislaus is seeking a temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant in Capital Planning and Design, located in Stanislaus - Turlock. The position supports GIS work, field surveys, CAD data handling, and campus mapping efforts.

Start date is on or after September 7, 2026 and ending on or before May 31, 2027, with potential reappointment based on budget and performance. Duties include creating, updating, and maintaining GIS databases with Trimble GPS equipment,

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate graduate students must enroll in a minimum of four Fall/Spring units.
• Current Stanislaus State student (Junior level or higher) preferred.
• Geography major or MSIS – Geospatial Analysis preferred.
• Knowledge of GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing; ArcGIS experience required.
• Familiarity with other campus mapping projects preferred.
• Excellent customer service, dependable, punctual; able to work with minimal supervision or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain GIS database using Trimble GPS equipment.
• Import CAD data from campus files for projects.
• Field survey to collect information and update campus maps.
• Maintain campus space allocation drawings.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
