Job summary

LEXINGTON in Lexington, NC is seeking a GIS Intern to perform entry-level support for GIS projects within the Utilities Services Admin Department. Under supervision, you will assist with data collection, mapping, and analysis tasks to gain hands-on experience in municipal GIS applications.

The position is designed for students: high school graduate, currently enrolled in a GIS or related program, and valid NC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Enrolled in accredited college/university program in geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related program.
• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state license with ability to obtain NC license within 60 days and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection for GIS projects.
• Help with mapping and spatial analysis tasks under supervision.
• Gain exposure to municipal GIS applications for the Utilities Services Admin Department.
