Job summary

HDR offers a Summer 2027 GIS Internship in our Resources Business group in Tyler, Texas. You will work on real-world geospatial projects under supervision, applying GIS methods and familiar software.

Ideal candidates are local students pursuing Geography, Planning, Engineering, or Natural Sciences with a 3.0+ GPA and an interest in GIS. This is a full-time, paid internship with mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Preferred 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.

Responsibilities

• Participate in real-world experience on exciting projects.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals' programs.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference given to local/regional candidates pursuing a Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences Degree, or closely related field during Summer 2027.
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry

Required Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program

• Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
