Job summary

State of Ohio's Emergency Management Agency is seeking a GIMS Database Administrator to design and manage the EMA GIS program, implement GIS policies, and maintain data standards. The role is based in Columbus with standard 8–hour workdays.

You will oversee GIS hardware/software purchases, licenses, data storage, and public-facing GIS products, including ArcGIS Pro maps and AGOL integrations. Strong database and GIS expertise are essential for this critical position.

Qualifications

• 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in database & information management & database systems; coord. systems & map algebra in GIS operations.
• AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development;

Responsibilities

• Design & manage the EMA GIS program; formulate, implement & maintain GIS policies & procedures.
• Maintain all GIS programs, applications, & data; evaluate & manage division GIS licenses & maintenance contracts.
• Oversee purchase & installation of GIS hardware & software; manage division GIS data storage & credit usage.
• Develop & enforce data standards, data capture, coding schemes, database designs, data dictionary, index & archiving procedures.
• Analyze, create, & manage ArcPro maps & templates to standardize division mapping products; maintain online GIS presence.
