Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a software professional to design, develop and install GIS-enabled solutions in Columbus, OH. You will design, configure and support technology applications, leveraging GIS concepts and spatial data.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, and hands-on ESRI GIS tools (ArcGIS Arcade, ArcPy) plus Jira/Agile practices. Competitive compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and long-term incentives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
5 years of relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and support technology solutions that meet business and end-user needs, including GIS.
Troubleshoot application, integration, data, and configuration issues using a structured problem-solving approach.
Work directly with business partners to understand needs, translate requirements, and recommend practical technical solutions.
Understand common solution patterns involving applications, APIs, services, relational databases, cloud technologies, and GIS.
Apply a working knowledge of GIS concepts, spatial data, and mapping to support and troubleshoot location-based solutions.
