Job summary

Genwest Systems Inc. is seeking a GIS Technical Architecture Specialist to deliver ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise solutions for NOAA/ORR. The role focuses on design, deployment, and optimization of geospatial services across enterprise environments.

The candidate will manage large PostgreSQL databases, automate GIS workflows with Python, and ensure secure, scalable hosting of ESI data and web services for internal NOAA teams and the public. hybrid work from NOAA sites preferred in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, CS, IT, Geography, or related field with 3–5 years of experience.
Experience administering Esri ArcGIS Enterprise in server environments (Windows/Linux).
Strong understanding of relational DBs, spatial data modeling, SQL.
Advanced Python for GIS workflows, data pipelines, admin tasks.
Eligible for NOAA/DOC Public Trust security clearance or CAC/PIV.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Flexible, proactive, and able to work in fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

Configure and maintain Esri ArcGIS Enterprise architecture (ArcGIS Server, Portal, Data Store).
Manage large PostgreSQL geospatial databases for storage, editing, and analysis.
Build scalable data storage frameworks for large datasets and disaster recovery.
Automate publishing and monitoring of web layers using Python and ArcPy.
Provide ESI technical support and enterprise solutions.
Architect and publish REST endpoints, feature services, and map services.
Ensure integration with ERMA and other NOAA platforms.
Monitor performance and ensure high availability during emergencies.
