Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) currently seeks a GIS-focused software professional to design, develop, and install location-based technology solutions in Columbus. You will work on GIS-integrated applications, troubleshoot data and configuration issues, and collaborate with Project Management, Business Analysts, and Infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering and at least five years of GIS experience, with ESRI GIS tooling

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical field is required.
5+ years of relevant GIS work experience are required.
IT project development experience and ESRI GIS experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and support technology solutions including GIS and spatial capabilities.
Troubleshoot application, data, and configuration issues using structured problem-solving.
Engage with business partners to translate needs into practical technical solutions.
Understand patterns involving applications, APIs, services, databases, cloud tech, and GIS.
Apply GIS concepts, spatial data, and mapping to support location-based solutions.
