Job summary
ESPO Corporation is seeking an Assistant GIS Specialist in Akron, OH to support GIS data development, analysis, and mapping for client projects. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, accuracy, and timely communication of project status.
You will assist with data maintenance, coordinate system projections, and geospatial databases while upholding quality and safety policies. Travel is minimal and the team values continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or related field.
- GISP or ESRI certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with accuracy and problem solving.
- Proficient with ArcGIS Pro, AGOL, and MS Office.
Responsibilities
- Assist with GIS analysis, data development, data collection, and mapping for client projects.
- Assist with GIS metadata creation, digital feature extraction, and ownership data research.
- Assist with coordinate system projections and geospatial data transformations for deliverables.
- Create and update GIS maps, layers, and geospatial databases.
- Georeference raster and vector datasets and support QA/QC of deliverables.
- Communicate project status with teams and clients regularly.
