Arbormetrics (AMS) seeks a GIS Analyst to transform spatial data into actionable insights for utility vegetation management. You will analyze terrain and urban corridors, build GIS databases, and create dashboards to guide infrastructure planning and safety decisions.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in GIS with ESRI tools, ArcGIS, and Python/SQL scripting. Office-based with potential field travel; strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience with GIS software and databases, including ESRI Suite.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS and QGIS as core tools.
• Basic programming/scripting knowledge (Python, SQL).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel if needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret spatial data to support utility vegetation management (UVM) programs and infrastructure planning
• Create, maintain, and update GIS databases, maps, and dashboards
• Perform spatial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Support field crews with reports, maps, spreadsheets, etc.
• Manage specialized databases and spreadsheets; generate reports with Excel
• Collaborate with field teams to integrate GPS data into GIS systems
• Generate reports and visualizations to support decision-making and regulatory compliance
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across platforms and projects
• Support QA/QC processes for spatial data and field-collected information
• Assist in developing and maintaining automated workflows using GIS tools and scripting
• Travel may be required for field data collection or coordination
