Job summary

Arbormetrics (AMS) is seeking a GIS Analyst to transform spatial data into actionable insights for utility vegetation management and infrastructure planning. The role involves building GIS databases, creating maps and dashboards, and collaborating with field teams to integrate GPS data.

You will analyze spatial data, generate reports, and ensure data accuracy across platforms. A 1–2 year GIS background and proficiency in ArcGIS/QGIS are required, with travel potential for field work.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience with GIS software and databases, including ESRI Suite.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and GIS data formats.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret spatial data to support utility vegetation management (UVM) programs and infrastructure planning.
• Create, maintain, and update GIS databases, maps, and dashboards.
• Perform spatial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Respond to data inquiries and support field crews with reports, maps, spreadsheets, etc.
• Manage databases and spreadsheets, entering data and generating reports (Excel).
• Collaborate with field teams to integrate GPS data into GIS systems.
• Generate reports and visualizations to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across platforms and projects.
• Support QA/QC processes for spatial data and field-collected information.
• Assist in developing automated workflows using GIS tools and scripting.
• Travel may be required for field data collection or coordination.
