Job summary

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst 2 to join the Planning & Development Division in Carson City, Nevada. This role supports statewide planning, data management, and GIS product development for NDOT’s initiatives.

The on-site position requires designing, testing, and implementing GIS applications, managing geospatial data, and ensuring data quality and usability across maps and digital products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems, geography, cartography, computer information systems, or a closely related field and two years of professional GIS experience.
• Associate degree in geographic information systems, geography, cartography, computer information systems, or a closely related field and three years of professional GIS experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent and four years of professional GIS experience; OR one year as GIS Analyst I in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain statewide GIS including road networks and GIS data layers.
• Plan, design, modify, implement and administer spatial databases and security standards.
• Install, configure and administer GIS Server software and publish web map services.
• Develop and enforce GIS application procedures and security standards; write and test software updates.
• Analyze user requirements to design GIS datasets/databases and provide end-user support.
