Job summary

Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a GIS Analyst 2 to join the Planning & Development Division in Carson City, Nevada. This role designs, tests, and implements GIS applications, manages geospatial data, and develops methodologies to support NDOT’s statewide planning efforts and One Nevada Transportation Plan.

The incumbent will work with staff and consultants to ensure GIS datasets and maps meet quality standards, with on-site work and no remote options.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, cartography, or related field with two years GIS experience.
Associate's degree in GIS-related field with three years GIS experience.
High school diploma with four years GIS experience; OR Nevada GIS Analyst I experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

Design, test, and implement GIS applications and develop methodologies to meet project objectives.
Manage a wide range of geospatial data to support NDOT planning and operational needs.
Coordinate with staff, consultants and NDOT leadership to ensure GIS datasets and maps meet standards.
Provide technical support and train end users on GIS software and workflows.
