Job summary

Apex Engineering Group seeks a GIS Analyst to support the GIS Coordinator on a variety of GIS projects across multiple offices. This position will focus on data analysis, advanced map development, configuration of web-based GIS solutions, and developing automation in the ArcGIS environment.

Potential exists to advance to internal and external consulting services. We value collaboration and meticulous work; travel regionally may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geography, Computer Science, or GIS-related field from an accredited college or university.
• 3-5 years’ experience with ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Field Maps, Dashboards, Story Maps, Web App Builder or Experience Builder).
• Knowledge of GIS related to land development, local government, public works, planning, municipal engineering, water resources, environmental permitting, transportation and planning.
• Strong troubleshooting with relational databases and Esri programming languages (Arcade, Python, VB, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with CAD data and conversion to GIS; experience with high-accuracy GPS data collection; valid driver’s license; regional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare advanced detailed maps and GIS automation; operate CAD software (Civil 3D, MicroStation).
• Produce presentation-quality maps using cartographic standards.
• Develop and manage quality control procedures and documentation.
• Acquire spatial data and integrate datasets into the GIS.
• Maintain high attention to detail across tasks and meet deadlines.
• Work effectively within a team; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
