Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently.
• Strong understanding of the company's production system, gilt flow & sow farm flow experience.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets.
• Excellent communication, judgment and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism; able to represent Schwartz Farms in a positive manner.

Responsibilities

• Oversee gilt development staff and GDUs to ensure timely gilt supply.
• Coordinate visits to GDUs and schedule gilt movements with multiplier and farms.
• Monitor biosecurity, vaccination and health protocols across GDUs and sow farms.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, feed and logistics to optimize gilt health and throughput.
• Lead staffing, performance reviews and training while ensuring company policies are followed.
• Promote Schwartz Farms culture and maintain PQA certification.
