Job summary

Iowa Select Farms is seeking a Gilt Development Manager to lead a team caring for feeder pigs and gilts to achieve optimum productivity. You will supervise production personnel at multiple GDU sites, ensure breed targets and production goals are met, and assist in light facility maintenance.

The role requires managing audits, training staff, planning feed, monitoring environmental controls, and maintaining accurate records in ISF systems. Strong leadership and animal care focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of swine production experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• On-site, full-time role with weekend/holiday rotations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team at GDU sites to meet breed targets and production goals.
• Promote cooperation and supervise site cleanliness and bio-security.
• Oversee feed planning, ordering, and cost controls; maintain records.
• Monitor environment and animal welfare; perform euthanasia when needed.
• Assist with hiring, training, and performance management with HR.
