Schwartz Farms Inc. seeks a Manager of Gilt Development to oversee gilt production management, staff supervision and cross-unit coordination to ensure timely supply of gilts to destination sow farms.

The role requires travel across central Minnesota and to locations in South Dakota and Wisconsin. The position emphasizes biosecurity, vaccination protocols, and daily operational optimization, with focus on gilt health, growth and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with gilt development and gilt flow management.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple units across sites.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate strong relationships with staff, contract growers and multiplication farms.
• Schedule and coordinate gilt movements and visits to GDUs.
• Monitor and communicate gilt health, vaccination and biosecurity protocols.
• Assist with site troubleshooting and operational improvements in GDUs.
