Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate.
• Alabama Gifted Education Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Knowledge of Alabama Gifted Education regulations.
• Knowledge of MTSS, differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, and assessment practices.
• Strong data analysis, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to identified gifted students using ALSDE guidelines.
• Design and implement differentiated, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote creativity, innovation, critical thinking, research, leadership, and problem solving.
• Monitor student growth and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Coordinate the district's Gifted Child Find Plan and ensure compliance with ALSDE requirements.
• Coordinate referrals, screenings, and assessments required for gifted eligibility.
• Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction and support MTSS and intervention programs.
• Communicate with families regarding gifted services, progress, and eligibility.
