Job summary

School District Fremont RE-1 seeks an innovative Middle School Gifted and Talented educator to identify gifted learners, manage ALPs, and provide high-rigor instruction addressing academic and social-emotional needs. Collaborates with general education staff to nurture giftedness across content areas.

The educator will lead ALP conferences, maintain accurate files, and ensure compliance with state requirements, working district-wide to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in gifted education preferred.
• Valid Colorado Teaching License with Gifted Education Core Endorsement (Ages 4-21) or ability to apply.
• Passing score on PRAXIS #5358 (Gifted Education).
• Experience: Middle school teaching experience desirable with differentiation.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Excellence: deliver high-rigor instruction for high-ability learners.
• ALP Management: manage ALPs conferences and maintain case files.
• Identification & Assessment: lead committee to review data for eligibility determinations.
• Enrichment Coordination: lead enrichment activities for identified students.
• Teacher Support: conduct gifted education workshops and support general education differentiation.
• Literacy & Assessment: apply data-driven literacy and assessment practices.
• Collaborative Culture: maintain positive school culture with staff and community.
• Conflict Resolution: handle conflicts professionally with stakeholders.
• Independence & Ethics: work with minimal supervision upholding district values.
