Job summary

Duke Health Integrated Practice in Durham, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse II – GI Triage to join the Gastroenterology team. The role focuses on triage and care coordination for patients via telehealth, with the position based in Durham at a non-clinical office site. The RN must hold a NC license and a BSN, with at least two years in GI/Endoscopy.

The role includes duties in education, care coordination and collaboration across providers. Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited BSN program.
• Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina; BLS required.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience in GI/Endoscopy.
• Ability to perform nursing triage and patient education via phone and secure messaging.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing triage, assessment and education to patients via telephone interactions and secure messaging.
• Plan, provide and document evidence based, professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process under provider orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of unlicensed care providers (schedulers, Medical Assistants and Staff Assistants).
• Provider cross coverage to team members to facilitate patient care.
• Participate in entity level performance improvement activities and meetings.
