IRMC Physician Group is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for the Gastroenterology department in Indiana, PA. This on-site, full-time role focuses on pre-registration, patient scheduling, and coordination with providers and billing teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, medical secretarial training, CPR certification, and excellent customer service and communication abilities. Knowledge of medical terminology and front-office software is a plus.

Competenze

• Must have a high school diploma; business or medical secretarial training preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.
• Experience with front-office medical software and medical terminology is helpful.

Mansioni

• Perform pre-registration in coordination with office, OR, preregistration and surgery centers.
• Provide excellent customer service during patient calls to obtain/verify demographics and insurance information.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and explain financial responsibilities before service.
• Provide patients with instructions for scheduled appointments and procedures; answer questions about services.
• Discuss financial options and refer to Financial Counselors as needed.
• Maintain accurate pre-registration to ensure smooth on-site registration.
• Collect copays/coinsurances and provide receipts.
• Answer calls, screen and direct messages per policy.
• Generate surgical lists and communicate schedules to office, billing, and providers.
• Maintain organized records and follow up on no-shows or cancellations.
