Job summary

Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute in Tampa is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to join the GI department at our Main office (14547 Bruce B Downs Blvd). The selected candidate may float to Wesley Chapel or Carrollwood as needed.

Must have scheduling experience and work Mon-Thu 7:00am-4:00pm, Fri 7:00am-12pm or until the last patient leaves. Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians, patients, and staff, using scheduling systems, and ensuring accurate patient preparation and

Qualifications

• Must have scheduling experience.
• GI scheduling experience preferred but not required.
• One year of retail, customer service or health care.
• Computer experience required.
• High school graduate or equivalent; medical terminology course within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information of department/procedure specific scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation, arrival location and time.
• Be proactive with all customers by actively listening and offering alternatives when necessary.
• Demonstrate superb telephone etiquette, team player attitude and professional communication skills.
• Maintain knowledge of scheduling systems and web-based resources used by the department.
• Maintain basic understanding of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes as deemed necessary.
• Communicate changes to schedules to appropriate staff and attend departmental meetings.
