Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL seeks a GI Tech (GI Lab Tech / Endo Tech) for its GI Lab. The GI Tech reports to the GI RN, OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services and supports invasive GI procedures.

Shifts are 8 hours, 6:30am–3:00pm, with on-call requirements. The role includes scrubbing for GI procedures, handing instruments, and aiding the team to provide high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire required.
• 2+ years GI setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub assistant to physician during invasive GI procedures.
• Assist with endoscopic exams (colonoscopy/upper endoscopy).
• Pass sterilized instruments and supplies promptly.
• Support ongoing patient care for adolescents to older adults.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
• Serve as a resource to other staff as appropriate.
