Job summary

Landmark Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a GI Technician to support physicians during invasive GI procedures. The role requires assisting with instrument and supply handling and readiness for emergency cases within 30 minutes of call.

Qualifications include a CNA or Medical Assistant program, high school diploma or equivalent, and a current BLS certificate. The position is full-time and based in Woonsocket, RI.

Qualifications

• Experience in GI setting and assisting procedures.
• Certification of BLS (AHA) is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus CNA/MA training completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during invasive GI procedures as scrub assistant.
• Hand sterilized instruments, scopes and supplies to the physician during procedures.
• Be prepared to assist in emergency cases within 30 minutes when on-call.
• Adhere to hospital policies and participate in quality/performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities

The ASU CNA G.I. Technician is directly accountable to the G.I. RN, and Director of Perioperative Services/Designee. The G.I. Technician is responsible as the scrub assistant to the physician during invasive G.I. procedures. The G.I. Tech hands sterilized instruments, scopes and/or supplies to the physician during the procedure without unnecessary delay. Arrives and is prepared to assist in an emergency case within 30 minutes from the time call when on-call. Assist co-workers in the provision of continuous, quality patient care for adults and older adults. Is responsible for adhering to regulations, standards, hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities. Acts as a resource person for other personnel as appropriate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.2. Graduate of a CNA or Medical Assistant training program required3. Previous on the job training with a minimum of 2 years experience (GI setting) preferred.4.
