Job summary

Kia VTAP offers Veterans a clear pathway to start a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician through a one-year GI Bill approved apprenticeship with participating Kia Retailers. As a full-time apprentice you will train with Kia technicians, gain hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles with the latest tools, and progress toward Kia Service Technician certification.

The program provides real-world employment and the potential access to a Monthly Housing Allowance under the GI

Qualifications

• Honorable discharge required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests.
• Test drive vehicles and analyze, diagnose, and repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools.
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.
