Job summary

Apollo Surgery Center, a GI endoscopy facility in Lancaster, CA, seeks a per diem Registered Nurse to support patient care during operative courses. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Nursing: 3 years (Required)
• ACLS (Required)
• BLS Certification (required)
• RN licensure in good standing (CA)

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient assessments. Documents the nursing process.
• Completes initial assessment of patient condition and response to treatment and initiates follow-up as needed.
• Instructs patients and families in basic health teaching and discharge planning.
• Revises plan of care based on health status intra-operatively.
• Coordinates nursing interventions to achieve outcomes and readiness for discharge.
• Directs and provides patient care in emergency situations and analyzes care against standards.
• Practices infection control and standard/universal precautions.
• Assists with housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe environment.
