Job summary

Merrimack Valley Endoscopy Center is seeking an Endoscopy RN- PRN per diem to deliver safe patient care in intraoperative settings. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, assisting surgeons, maintaining sterile technique, and coordinating with the care team to ensure smooth operation of endoscopy procedures.

Required are a valid RN license in the appropriate state, high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS/ACLS/PALS as per ASC policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license in the appropriate state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications as required by ASC policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with intraoperative care in procedure rooms and operating rooms.
• Transport patients to and from the procedure room.
• Prepare and position patients for the endoscopic procedure.
• Ensure proper supplies, equipment, and medications are ready for use.
• Verify patient, procedure, positioning, and equipment correspond.
• Responsible for timeout per site verification policy.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures with passing equipment and monitoring vitals.
• Maintain the procedure room, stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
• Develop and implement care plans for patients.
• Assist in maintenance and storage of endoscopic equipment.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Apply aseptic and sterile techniques to instruments and equipment.
• Alleviate patient concerns and provide postoperative care instructions.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of nursing care for team use.
• Clean and disinfect all surfaces and equipment between cases.
• Problem solve in stressful situations and perform other duties as assigned.
