Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking recent graduates for its G.Futures Technical Management Associate Program in Charlotte, NC. The 18‑month program combines on‑the‑job learning, classroom training, and mentorship to shape future leaders with exposure to engineering, operations, and business processes.

You will work with AutoCAD, Inventor, SAP, PLEX, and Excel while rotating through sites across the US and Canada, building a holistic view of the steel industry and developing leadership, analytical,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Recent graduate within the last two years, nearing program start.
• GPA 2.5+ (3.0+ preferred).
• Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willing to travel within the United States during the program.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the 18-month G.Future leadership program with on-the-job learning and classroom training.
• Engage in mentorship and leadership development with senior leaders.
• Visit customers and suppliers to gain end-to-end business knowledge.
• Collaborate with Gerdau North America teams across locations in the US and Canada.

Your mentor will be a seasoned professional within the company who will facilitate your integration with Gerdau, help you understand Gerdau’s values and business culture and streamline your training by providing you technical knowledge and business vision.
• Visit our customers and suppliers to gain In-depth knowledge of our business from beginning to end.
• Gain a holistic view and acumen of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America, as well as travel to various destinations throughout the US and Canada.
• Further your development by interacting with other G.Futures from across North America while tackling some of the organization’s biggest challenges.
• Grow a set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.
• Work with software such as AutoCad, AutoCAd Inventor, SAP, PLEX and excel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Or other applicable degree
• Recent college graduate within the last two years - recently completed or be in the process of completing degree before program starts
• Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)
• Preference for those with a degree-related internship experience
• Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
• A high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
• Willing to travel to various locations within the United States during the length of the program
