Job summary

Gerdau is seeking a 2027 Engineering Intern to join the Fort Smith, AR site and participate in the G. Start program.

This is a paid internship with project-focused tasks designed to develop technical and leadership skills in a global company with a long history in steel manufacturing. Ideal candidates are undergraduates in their junior or senior year pursuing Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials Science or Metallurgy Engineering or related fields, with minimum GPA 2.5 (3.0

• Undergraduate entering Junior or Senior year.
• Pursing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials Science or MetallurgyEngineering or related from a recognized accredited college or university.
• Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or higher).
• Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities.
• Must be legally authorized to work full-time in the country of hire without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment.
• Candidates must demonstrate leadership potential, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

Gerdau is seeking college students to participate in our G. Start program. G. Start is a paid internship program with the goal of developing students for future technical and managerial positions G. Start internships are project-focused and mutually beneficial. G. Start is a program that values the diversity and inclusion of our business and society.
