Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Staff Physician in Geriatrics and Extended Care to deliver comprehensive primary care for Veterans in the Community Living Center. The role oversees care across Secured Dementia Care, Long-Term Care, and Short-Stay Rehabilitation and requires active clinical duties with on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in spoken and written English as required.
• MD/DO degree from an approved school must be verified by VA.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US territory or DC.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct primary care to Veterans in the Community Living Center (CLC).
• Evaluate and manage Veterans across CLC neighborhoods (Secured Dementia, LTC, Rehabilitation).
• Perform admission histories, physical exams, assessments, and plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Conduct admission medication reconciliation for new admissions and readmissions.
• Write weekly progress notes and monthly/quarterly medical review notes for residents.
• Review and co-sign interprofessional notes and sign 30-day pharmacy reviews.
• Rotate on-call duties in addition to regular Monday–Friday schedule.
