U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Staff Physician to join the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service, providing comprehensive primary care to Veterans in the Community Living Center (CLC).

The role spans Secured Dementia Care, LTC, and Short-Stay Rehabilitation, with a 08:00–16:30 weekday schedule and rotating on-call duties. The position requires a medical degree, unrestricted license in the U.S., and residency in an approved core specialty.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an approved school
• Full and unrestricted medical license in the United States or D.C.
• Residency completed in an ACGME/AOA-accredited core specialty
• Board certification preferred; otherwise eligible for faculty status as applicable
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Provide direct primary care to Veterans in the Community Living Center (CLC)
• Perform admission/recapitulation histories, physicals, assessments, and plans within 24 hours of admission
• Conduct admission medication reconciliation and ongoing clinical notes
• Review and co-sign interprofessional and subspecialty notes
• Work schedule is Monday to Friday 0800–1630 with rotating on-call responsibilities

Education

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent

Residency training in an ACGME/AOA accredited core specialty
