Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a staff Geriatrics Physician to provide acute evaluation and care for inpatients and outpatients with a variety of geriatric conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The incumbent will conduct inpatient geriatrics consultations, supervise residents and fellows, and participate in monthly section meetings with geriatric staff and affiliated personnel. Recruitment incentives apply, including EDRP options.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required or as per VA policy
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state/Territory/DC
• MD or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine
• Board certification or eligibility in a core specialty
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Provide acute evaluation and care for inpatients and outpatients with geriatric conditions
• Perform inpatient geriatric medicine services and outpatient geriatrics consultations
• Supervise residents and fellows in geriatrics settings
• Participate in meetings with leadership and staff, and ensure credentialing and privileges are current
• Engage in continuous quality improvement and VA peer review processes
