Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a PTA.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical abilities and limitations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the Physical Therapist
• Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve patients' strength, range of motion, balance, and coordination
• Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for performing exercises and activities at home
• Communicate regularly with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
• Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
