Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine, invites a compassionate Geriatrician to join our team. You will provide comprehensive medical care for older adults, including long-term care patients, with emphasis on goals, independence, comfort, and quality of life.

Join a dedicated interdisciplinary team in a community hospital setting, using Epic EMR, and participate in education and quality improvement initiatives to enhance senior care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine preferred.
• Unrestricted Maine medical license eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments including medical history, functional status, cognition, and medication review.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient goals and quality of life priorities.
• Manage chronic illnesses and multiple comorbidities common in older adults.
• Evaluate and optimize medications to minimize inappropriate use.
• Collaborate with nursing, APs, rehab, specialists, social services, and other care team members.
