Job summary

Emerald Nursing & Rehab Legacy Pointe in Omaha, NE is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in our geriatric resident population.

The SLP will collaborate with the Rehab department, develop individualized treatment plans, educate residents and families, document progress, and advocate for high quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Omaha.
• CCC-SLP or ASHA certification preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and a commitment to improving quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.
• Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, OTs, PTs for holistic care.
• Provide education to residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to the interdisciplinary team.
