Job summary

Majestic Care of Southport is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care to residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will evaluate and treat residents, implement individualized plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote safe swallowing and enhanced communication.

A strong geriatric rehabilitation background, clinical expertise, and compassionate communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP from ASHA preferred; CF candidates may be considered.
• 2+ years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Medicare, PDPM, and SNF documentation standards strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate residents’ speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing function.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and resident goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions targeting speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive communication, and dysphagia disorders.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques to support carryover and safety.
• Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment that encourages resident participation and comfort.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
