Job summary

Emerald Care Center Midwest is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our geriatric residents. You will work within Rehab to deliver individualized care plans and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance residents' quality of life.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Oklahoma licensure, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Oklahoma licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments and resident needs.
• Implement and monitor therapy to improve communication and swallowing functions.
• Maintain accurate progress notes and care documentation.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapists in care planning.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on speech-language pathology topics.
