Job summary

Emerald Healthcare in Woodmere, NY is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assess and treat speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in a geriatric population.

The SLP will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize communication and swallowing outcomes. NY licensure and CCC-SLP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York (NY).
• CCC-SLP certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate records and report resident progress to the interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapists to coordinate care.
• Provide education to residents, families, and staff on communication and swallowing disorders.
• Adhere to facility policies and regulatory standards.
