Job summary

Emerald Healthcare in Woodmere, NY is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in our geriatric resident population. The SLP will contribute to improving quality of life by delivering resident-centered care.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, document outcomes, educate residents, families, and staff, and stay current

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred by ASHA.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric settings is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and evaluation of speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments and resident needs.
• Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing.
• Maintain accurate records of resident progress and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapists in care planning.
