Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join a geriatric care team. The role involves performing assessments, initiating therapies, and delivering bedside treatments in a skilled nursing setting, with Saturday and Sunday coverage.

Candidates must hold a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, be licensed as an RRT or CRT in the practicing state, and maintain BLS certification; prior long-term care experience is

Qualifications

Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
Licensed in the state where practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for various illnesses.
Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
Provide in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
Attend applicable IDT meetings.
Experience with tracheotomy in long-term care.
Experience in a long-term care setting.
Follow facility procedures and protocols.
Perform tracking, auditing and caseload management.
Performs related duties as required.
