Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Setauket, NY, is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. You will evaluate and treat residents with complex respiratory needs, perform bedside therapies, and participate in interdisciplinary care to improve patient comfort and outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an RRT or CRT license, is licensed in-state, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapies for various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Deliver bedside treatments and document daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
• Participate in quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and manage caseloads.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
