Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents with various respiratory conditions, perform bedside therapies, and document care per facility protocols.

Candidates must hold an AS/BS in Respiratory Therapy, be licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state, and maintain BLS certification. Weekend Saturday-Sunday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the state of practice.
• BLS certification current and valid in the practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain or rehab residents with various respiratory illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
