Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a geriatric-focused team in a skilled nursing facility. The RT should be licensed in the state, capable of independent assessment, and experienced with tracheotomy and long-term care environments.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, documenting outcomes, operating equipment, and providing bedside treatments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain or rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy; long-term care setting experience.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Handles tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
