Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Centereach, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to cover Saturday and Sunday shifts in a skilled nursing setting. The ideal candidate will hold an active state license (RRT or CRT), be able to assess and treat independently, and provide respiratory care and bedside treatments to geriatric residents.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, documenting care, maintaining equipment, and participating in IDT meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice with BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Perform a variety of bedside treatments.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Complete tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
