Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The position requires Saturday and Sunday coverage in a geriatric care setting with a state license and the ability to evaluate and treat independently.

Responsibilities include assessments, initiating therapies, bedside treatments, documentation, IDT participation, and education for nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques to rehab patients with respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments.
• Deliver in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Complete tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
