Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Associate / Nurse Assistant for the Geri Psych department. You will assist with daily patient care, support families, and help maintain a safe, respectful unit environment in collaboration with registered nurses.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, feeding, dressing, hygiene, mobility, and daily activities while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two+ years’ experience as a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant.
• BLS certification from recognized bodies is required before start date and valid beyond start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs selected patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to help meet treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for daily activities like bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility.
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe, clean working environment and follows infection-control policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
